When rental car company Avis launched its new industry-leading app in New Zealand, BPR was engaged to highlight the app as a game changer for the local rental car market and Avis customers alike.
Key to the success of the launch was positioning the app as one of the many innovations Avis is undertaking to gear New Zealanders up for the future of car rental.
To do this we carried out a strategic media relations plan that announced the new app to industry and trade media. Additionally, we engaged some of New Zealand’s top travel and lifestyle content creators and influencers to help spread the word about the Avis app and the company’s future innovations in the rental car business.
A launch event in Auckland was designed to showcase the technology of the app, as well as a celebration of Avis as the rental car leader.
The launch event was held at the Hilton’s FISH restaurant in Auckland and attended by more than 120 guests that brought together everyone from Avis staff and key business partners to the country’s top travel media and content creators.
With leading travel bogger and content creator, Logan Dodds, as guest speaker, his travel adventures were ideally aligned with Avis and its focus on taking customers to new and exciting places.
The launch of the app was widely covered in travel and trade media and had strong reach and engagement on social media which resulted in more than 500 app downloads and updates in the first week.
