To find a design for its first project in NZ, Melbourne-based ICD Property invited five architects to compete in an international design competition. We were engaged to create widespread awareness about the project and establish ICD as a company committed to Auckland.
We held a launch event for industry, Auckland Council representatives, and media where the five architects presented their designs and vision for the Auckland sky line.
The launch kick-started a multi-stage media relations campaign, including filming content which highlighted ICD’s goals, showcased the architects’ designs, and revealed the winning design to the public.
More than 100 people attended the launch, which was live streamed via leading architecture and design website Architecture Now, and garnered widespread media coverage.
The story sparked a public campaign on social media to find a nickname for the “Cheese Grater” building.
