Auckland-based Boyd PR is a finalist in the Commercial Communications Council’s 2019 Pressie Awards in the Best Sponsorship or Media Partnership category, for its campaign WOW My Town with long-standing client Mazda New Zealand.
This is the fourth award the campaign has been nominated for this year, following the PR Awards Asia 2019, the SABRE Awards Asia-Pacific 2019 and the 2019 Bulldog PR Awards where the agency received the Silver Bulldog Award.
The Commercial Communications Council’s PR, Experiential and Social Media Committee (PREScom), was established in 2008 to raise awareness of the value of PR, Experiential and Social Media services for clients.
As part of its drive to promote best practice in these industries, last year PREScom launched an awards programme and event with the goal of bringing the industry and clients together to recognise and celebrate the best work in New Zealand.
Boyd PR’s Managing Director John Boyd says the agency is very proud the campaign has been nominated for another award.
“It’s great to be recognised locally as well as internationally for our work on WOW My Town. We’ve been working with Mazda for more than fifteen years and we’re so grateful to have clients that trust us and aren’t afraid to take risks,” he says.
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the World of WearableArt, principal sponsor Mazda NZ drove the first-ever WOW My Town roadshow across New Zealand.
Over ten days, a custom-wrapped Mazda CX-9 and Mazda6 travelled over 1,500kms visiting Auckland, Taupo, Nelson, Christchurch, and Queenstown before ending in Wellington just in time for the opening night of the 2018 WOW Awards Show.
Daily content was generated and shared across Mazda’s social platforms along with an 11-minute film featuring memories from past designers, models and super-fans that was also screened at the WOW hub in Wellington.
