Netsafe
Making a splash for children in the digital world
We helped launch Netsafe’s new online safety programme, Hector’s World, at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium as part of a range of activities to spread awareness about this important initiative.
A growing concern in New Zealand is the safety of children online, with research showing 9-11 year-olds not sure what information should and shouldn’t be shared digitally.
Hector’s World is a bilingual animated series that was created to address critical online safety issues.
The launch was attended by Microsoft New Zealand, the Ministry of Education and industry partners.
A lively group of school children also came, along with their parents, teachers and school principal.
The programme launch was promoted by TV coverage on Breakfast to further raise awareness of Hector’s World and was widely billed as a success.
